How To Add Value And Attract Success

How To Add Value And Attract Success

How To Add ValueImagine for a moment that gas prices are too high and the cost of living keeps going up. Your car needs an oil change, tires need to be replaced, and you’re over-drafted $75 in your bank account. You’re having to warehouse your kids to daycare and the romance is gone from your marriage because although you work hard to provide for them, you never see them anymore. Your like ghosts that pass each other in the vastness reality that is life in the new economy.

If this were you, I’d venture to say that you’re not looking for the ‘next big thing’ – you’re looking for a solution.

In this post, I’m going to share not just how to add value to the lives of others, but why it is detrimental to the success of your business.

Learn How To Add Value and Increase Your Own

Let’s be honest. Most people don’t really care about your product, service, or your opportunity.

When we are going through something or are struggling, we typically look for solutions to our problems. We don’t want to be sold nor are we looking for opportunity…we just want our problems fixed. For many it becomes a desperation cry and it’s the same with our prospects as well.

There’s no value in spamming someone with your opportunity link or calling up your friends and relatives to pitch a business opportunity at them whenever you don’t bring anything valuable to the table.

What is value? Value is simply finding a need that must be met and presenting ideas and ways to solve problems and meet the needs of others. Do people want what you have? What do you bring to the table? Why should prospects want to know more about you and do business with you?

If you don’t learn how to add value to the lives of others, you’ll never increase your own value. How valuable you are is in direct proportion to the amount of value you add to the lives of others on a daily basis.

What type of problems does your opportunity or products solve? If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to add value…massive value…pinpoint the problems of others and then offer solutions with no strings attached.

When You Learn How To Add Value…Magic Happens!

When you go out of your way and inconvenience yourself just to add value to people’s lives, this is where the game changes. Completely.

You go from being some sleazy pushy used car salesman type of person to being a person of value – someone that people look to for leadership and for answers. They look to you as an authority figure and feel a sense of loyalty to you.

What if you had people hunting you down for a change because they know specifically that you are a person of value and someone they can trust?

What if whenever you did bring up your business opportunity and products, you have your prospects leaning forward in their seats, eagerly waiting to hear the words that come out of your mouth?

If you’re struggling in your business, then maybe it’s because you’re leading with your opportunity and products instead of leading with value. So many times I see network marketers and sales people that seem to only care about making ‘the sale’ instead of learning how to add value.

If you lead with value, you don’t have to worry about objections such as the pyramid objection or skeptical and negative people because you’re not selling anything to them. You’re meeting a need and providing a solution in their life and you’re giving them an idea, or a vision, to buy into.

3 Critical Steps To Your Success

Adding ValueStep 1: Change your mentality
Many people have a very bad perception of value and don’t really appreciate it. For example, have you ever seen someone looking for a handout or looking to get something for nothing? Or perhaps maybe you’ve approached someone about your MLM or business opportunity and whenever they found out there’s a start-up cost, they rolled their eyes and said “this just isn’t for me.” These people just don’t understand value and many times we don’t either. I can remember wondering why people would pay others to mow their yards, clean their house, and do their laundry and I used to think it was because they were just flat out lazy. However, I can remember listening to Tony Robbins and he said something so profound. He asked “how much is your time worth?” Let’s say your time is worth $75 an hour. If you spend 2 hours mowing your own yard, then you just spent $150 on yard work. Would it be more cost efficient to spend $30 to pay someone else to mow your yard or continue spending $150 every time you need yard work done? More on this in another post.

Step 2: Become a person of value and invest in yourself
You have to be willing to invest in yourself. You have to be willing to become a better “you”. This means you have to be willing to give up TV, movies, and entertainment for a while. Read books, put valuable things in your mind, and take the time to invest in yourself. You are your greatest asset and if you don’t take the time to invest in yourself then you’ll have absolutely nothing to give others when they need you the most.

Step 3: Lead with value and invest in others
All of the knowledge in the world means nothing without application. If we’re going to learn how to add value to the lives of others and literally attract success like a magnet, then we’re going to have to be willing to apply what we’ve learned and invest in others. Identify the problems faced in your community (friends, family, neighbors)and look for ways that you can be a solution. Whether this is by serving them, encouraging them, or identifying a way that your business can solve their problems. Remember – leadership is influence and you can only lead to the extent that people grant you the authority (or permission) to do so.
