For many network marketers, this is something that sounds good on paper, but is also believed by many to be so far out of reach.

In this quick post, I’m going to share with you how to attract success in MLM and build your business rejection free!



3 Practical Steps to Finding Success in MLM

1. The first step and number one key to success in any business is to manage your expectations. I think that this is one of the biggest mistakes made in our industry. Here’s what happens: we get invited to a meeting, online webinar, or are sucked into a well written sales page and we’re presented with the ‘opportunity of a lifetime’ by company leaders and gurus that are making lots of money in the industry. They make it sound so easy by saying things like, “Just pass out samples” or “The product sells itself” or “Just follow this plug and play system” and as a result, we’re severely misguided on what it really takes to find success in our business. Jim Rohn talked about the magic of part time. Network Marketing is magical because it allows us to work full time at our job while we work part time on our fortune. With this in mind, it’s important to understand that our business is a marathon, not a sprint.

MLM Success2. Step two involves something that doesn’t get talked a lot about. In both online network marketing and traditional network marketing, many people talk about following a system because systems can be duplicated. We’re also told to be motivated and positive because people are attracted to those that are positive and motivated. We’re also told to set clearly defined goals. Here’s what I’ve noticed: Most people, when they get started in MLM, are provided some sort of system, whether it’s an in house training system or a third party like MLSP. These same folks are also pretty positive and motivated and have set some clearly defined goals. Think about it. When you first joined Network Marketing, weren’t you pretty motivated by the compensation plan? Didn’t you have goals (fire the boss)? But yet many people STILL fail. Here’s why most people fail: they don’t possess the skills to work their business. It all boils down to skills. The second step to success in MLM…learn the skills.

3. The final step in this process involves something very simple, but yet is overlooked by so many in our society today. Step number three involves a word and a concept that has become lost in translation and is so foreign to so many people. Commitment. If you want to see success in your Network Marketing business, then you must make a decision to be committed to your business in both the good times and the bad. In the world of fast food, smart phones, and high speed internet, it’s very easy to become distracted. It’s very important that you don’t let yourself become distracted by the ‘next big thing’ or the next big hoop-la. Be committed, see the job through, look in the mirror and realize “if it’s to be, it’s up to me”. It’s impossible to attract success in MLM if you hop from company launch to company launch or try to do too many things at once. Keep it simple, stay committed to your business, and have fun in the process!

Your success in MLM depends on these 3 practical steps mentioned above.

Manage your expectations, learn the skills, and be committed.

Here’s something to think about for all of you skeptics out there that may disagree with my stance on learning the skills over a system, positive attitude, or being motivated. Could you in your profession just up and decide that tomorrow you want to be an airline pilot and expect to be able to go to work for Southwest Airlines tomorrow morning? Not likely – even though they have a proven system. Why? Because you haven’t learned the skills to be a pilot.

Can a firefighter just decide that tomorrow he wants to become a brain surgeon? It doesn’t matter how motivated that person is or how many goals they’ve set – it’s not going to happen.

And it’s the same way in our business. Your success in MLM depends on you managing your expectations, learning the skills, and staying committed.
