MLM Prospecting Build Instant Rapport With MLM ProspectsOne of the biggest mistakes I see Network Marketers make in their MLM prospecting is attacking the way prospects think. We can’t build rapport and trust with someone when we tell them something they disagree with.

We tell them things like “just get out of your comfort zone” and “change the way you think” and “you can make 6 figures a year” and here’s the problem: most people don’t like change, they don’t like their beliefs challenged, and many of them don’t have the belief in themselves that they can become financially free.

Since many people struggle with MLM prospecting, my goal with this post is to share a very simple formula that will allow you to build instant rapport with your MLM prospects in 3 easy steps and explode your MLM business.

The Problem With Most MLM Prospecting

Our job as network marketers is to build rapport with our MLM prospects, earn their trust, gain influence, and develop them into leaders. This is a step by step process and we cannot succeed in our MLM prospecting efforts if we try to do it all at one time.

Zig Ziglar once said, “Go as far as you can see and when you get there you’ll be able to see farther.

The reason why we struggle with our MLM prospecting and why it’s so hard to build rapport with people is because we try to take them farther then they can see or are willing to go.

As network marketers, we have a big vision – but this isn’t the problem. The problem is we tend to cast a vision so big, that to our MLM prospects, it’s so far fetched that it’s nothing but a pipe dream to them.

At this point, our MLM prospects either see us as salesman, as liars, or just plan crazy. I’m sure we can all agree that this is NOT the way to build rapport for our network marketing business.

Once our MLM prospects see us as pushy salesman trying to push some pyramid scheme down their throats, we’re dead in the water.

Rejection-Free MLM Prospecting -Yes, Really!

If you’re new to my blog, you’ll find out really quickly that I prefer to do my MLM prospecting rejection free. Yes, you read that right. Rejection free. So how do we build our business rejection free? Simple – we only tell people about our business if they ask us first. It’s that simple.

The real question is – how do we get MLM prospects to ask us about our business? It’s called attraction marketing, which in its’ simplest form, is the art of attracting prospects to you like a magnet. In order to do this, we must learn how to effectively build rapport.

Build Insant Rapport In 3 Easy StepsMany network marketers believe that in order to build rapport they must ask question after question after question. There’s nothing wrong with this approach, but after a while, your MLM prospect may begin to wonder why they’re being interrogated.

It’s the age of fast food, high speed internet, and smart phones, time is money and is extremely valuable. The attention span of most people today is the size of green pea. If we’re going to utilize what little time we have and build rapport within that time, then we’re going to need to learn the skill of building instant rapport.

Here’s the principle to go by when we are trying to build rapport in our MLM prospecting efforts: People put up walls of skepticism and disbelief towards other people who don’t think the same way they do.

The most effective way to build instant rapport with our MLM prospects is to bypass this skepticism with an opening statement that is already believed by the prospect.

When you tell an MLM prospect something they already believe, their subconscious mind says, “Hey! We think alike! You’re a genius, just like me!

Here’s The Simple 3 Step Formula To Building Instant Rapport With Your MLM Prospects…

This is a formula taken from one of my good friends and mentors, Tom “Big Al” Schreiter, and it’s called

“Fact – Fact – Small bit of information”

How it works:

Step 1: Fact – share a simple fact that is already believed by the prospect. This will bypass your prospects skepticism and is already accepted by the subconscious mind as a fact and so it lets the information through.

Step 2: Fact – share another simple fact that is already believed by the prospect. Once again, this is already accepted as fact by the subconscious mind so the information is allowed through.

Step 3: Small BIT of Information – notice the emphasis on the word ‘bit’. This step is very important and can either make or break this formula. This is where you insert one tiny bit of new information to the equation.

What is happening inside your MLM prospect’s mind when you share the first fact is their mind says, “I agree with that information, c’mon in!” The same thing happens when you share the second fact – their subconscious mind says, “I agree with statement, c’mon in!” Since the first 2 statements were already believed by the subconscious mind, it gets lazy and when you insert a new bit of information, your prospects mind says, “I believed the first statement, the second statement was also true, so what the heck – this third statement must be true too!”
